Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create an account?
Sign in with your Apple ID or Google account. A new profile will be created automatically. After signing in, you'll complete a brief onboarding process to set up your profile with your name, photo, activities, and preferences.
How does matching work?
When you and another user both "like" each other, you'll match and can start chatting. Browse profiles on the Home screen and tap the heart icon to like someone, or tap X to pass. When there's a mutual like, you'll both be notified and can begin messaging.
How do I change my location?
Go to Settings > Edit Profile > Location to update your area. The app uses your location to show you athletes nearby. Make sure location permissions are enabled in your device settings for the best experience.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Delete Account. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. If you change your mind, you can create a new account at any time. Note that if your account had any moderation history, some data may be retained for safety purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
Why am I not seeing any matches?
Try adjusting your filters to expand your search. You can increase the distance range, broaden your age preferences, or add more activities. Also ensure location permissions are enabled so we can show you athletes in your area. If you're in a less populated area, there may be fewer users nearby.
How do I report a user?
Tap the three-dot menu (...) on any profile or in a chat conversation to report inappropriate behavior. We review all reports within 48 hours and take action against users who violate our community guidelines. You can also block users to prevent them from contacting you.
How does photo verification work?
Photo verification is optional but recommended. Tap the verification badge on your profile to begin. You'll be asked to take a selfie matching a displayed pose. This proves you're real and adds a verified badge to your profile, helping you build trust with other users.
Is HOWZIT free to use?
Yes, HOWZIT is free to download and use. All core features including browsing profiles, matching, and messaging are available at no cost.
